Description
Performs a wide range of technical skills, which are utilized during a variety of Cardiology (and Interventional Radiology at Altamonte) procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients. The Technologist needs to be proficient in all aspects of angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring consistent with the policies and procedures of the Cardiology Department and hospital administration. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must have completed and passed basic EKG course or do so within 6 months of hire
- BLS upon hire or within 90 days. CPR skills check bi annually.
- ACLS within 90 days of hire. Must maintain ACLS certification.
- Able to operate all equipment in various cath lab areas
- Able to set up and calculate various medications with different routes of administration.
- Able to perform all aspects of recording, scrubbing, and monitoring
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: - Prefer ACLS
- Prefer advanced levels of EKG training
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: - Must be graduate of a school of Radiological Technology, Cardiopulmonary / Respiratory Technology, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - Prefer 1 year cath lab experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: - Current license or registration by the State of Florida as RN, Rad Tech, LPN, or Resp Tech; or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International. New graduate CVT’s must obtain registration within 18 months of graduation
